USTA Junior Team Tennis

Junior team tennis is for boys and girls, ages 6 to 18 to play singles and doubles matches against other local teams.

Besides being fun and getting exercise, junior team tennis is a great way to improve your tennis skills through level based competitive matchplay in a team setting. Junior team tennis also promotes friendship, teamwork, sportsmanship, individual growth, social interaction and life skills.

We offer 2 sessions of junior team tennis. Spring (February-May) Fall (September-December) Each season typically lasts 8 to 10 weeks. Matches are played on Saturdays, half of the matches played at home Dana Hills Tennis Center and half away at nearby clubs and high schools. Matches usually last about 2 hours including warmup.

The format for each match is  4 singles and 2 doubles or 6 singles and 3 doubles matches depending on age division, using no-ad scoring.

Typical roster is 9 to 12 players so that we have enough players in the event of illness or players being out of town. (minimum of 6 players for each match) Depending on the number of confirmed players for each match, sometimes you might play both singles and doubles, sometimes just singles or doubles.

Requirements to be on the team?

  • Can commit to play most of the Saturday matches.
  • Be able to confirm your participation in each weeks match, by replying to my email, if not confirmed you will not be added to that weeks lineup! This is because I have to confirm our matches and number of players with the opposing teams coach, so we don’t have defaults and no shows,
  • Come to at least one or more of our weekly tennis clinics. (Clinics are our practice)
